Why this project…………….
The violence which women face takes many forms. Domestic violence, political violence and militarism,
Economic violence, racial and ethnic violence, social cultural and Religious violence. All of these forms of violence are inter related. In times of war, violence against women increases.
Yet, women rarely respond to the violence against them with violence. They organize and work in a thousand different ways to resist and overcome the violent situations in which they live.
This particular project, sponsored by ICTA is an effort to raise awareness to public to stop violence against women through non violent action using Information technology, as a campaign. We hope through this media campaign the message to stop violence against women will increase the visibility of women’s initiatives for social change.
We worked hard on issues around domestic violence and we call for the silence around violence to be broken. The stories of women’s pain need to be told, need to be heard. In spite if many obstacles we are progressing and encourage our society so that people come forward to stop violence against women.
